So, as usual, I have begun my summer with a monumental clean-up of my room and a look-over of old story notes so I can pick something to work on over the summer when I'm not writing Light and Darkness.
When I picked up my old Taeru notebook and looked over the story inside, I wanted to keep writing it, but something felt off. I always had known it was a predictable story, but now it was becoming even more cliche to me. So, I took some time to experiment and, what do you know, I have found my answer. Instead of writing it from the main protagonist's POV (that would be Alexa, for those of you in the know), I'm going to focus on the one villain character (Zandra). Somehow the villains of this story seem much to interesting to leave in the dark so much. Maybe I'll have Alexa keep a journal instead and insert excerpts from that. The only issue is that my favorite scene so far has Zandra nowhere in it. It's going to take a bit of thought to work out, but I like the idea so far. Hopefully, this will mean Taeru will finally get beyond the first five chapters.
